At Pioneer Youth Services we offer:

Milieu Therapy, which offers a stabilizing environment that is characterized by structure, routine, predictability, and respect to accomplish a variety of purposes. The primary goal is the provision of a psychologically and physically safe and secure environment that promotes grou and individual development. Then environment is safe and need-responsive twenty-four hours a day in order to help each resident attain the following goals:

  • Development of internal controls
  • Reduction of psychiatric symptoms
  • Development of adaptive coping skills
  • Engagement in group activities that promote positive feelings of self worth
  • Development of independent living skills

    Recreation Programs

    There are ample programs offered within the K-W community that are available to most children who reside with PYS. Residents are encouraged to participate in order to gain social skills, balanced life style and widen their network of friends and associates within the community.

    During the summer, in addition to community programs, Pioneer Youth Services also provides the residents with a structured outdoor program on a daily basis. Some of the summer highlights include our annual summer camping trip and Summer Picnic. A trip to Canada’s Wonderland and other themed parks are also planned.

    Pioneer has full seasonal memberships to Bingemans Water Park, and all of the Grand River Conservation Parks.
